Hi everyone,
When we started going to Victoria 8 years ago and visiting different marinas, if someone would have told me then that I would end up living on a boat I would have told them they were absolutely out of their mind. Then we started looking inside some of these boats and ended up going ½’s on a Catalina 27 with Randy and Laurie. The first time out on the boat with the rail in the water and Laurie and I thinking the boat was going to tip over I got thinking – What did I get myself into......Then in 2003 we bought a Niagara 35 and named it Shearwave. Tony and I (well mostly Tony) worked on it for 3 years to get it sea worthy. Our first extended trip was to Puget Sound for 3 weeks in May 2006. Being on the water and on the boat for 3 weeks – docking, anchoring, having waves come over the bow and into the cockpit I picked up a lot of confidence. By the end of that year I decided I could do this. Every time we went out I tried to improve my sailing skills, and build up my confidence.

In May of 2008, we saw a Sceptre ’41 for sale and knowing that the Sceptre’s are a good boat, (see captains note below) we decided to make this one our home. The more I look at her the more I think: ‘What a beauty’
Hopefully this spring we’ll be able to have some trips and nice pictures to share with our family and friends.
Until then, wishing you all happy days.Ginette.
It has to be the understatement of the year to say that the Sceptre is a "good boat"............ It is a great boat, a marvelous boat, a masterpiece of maritime art! (Tony)
